EIFFEL at UCL lecture

On March 1st, David Clark will explore the issue of “why re-inventing the Internet” in a lecture that will take place at the Old Refectory, University College London (see announcement here). While David will present the reasoning behind the NSF FIND initiative in the US, I will have the opportunity to present the EIFFEL initiative in the second half of the lecture.

As was discussed in earlier entries in this blog, the EIFFEL group made two recommendations in its whitepaper, namely the creation of a support action in FP7 to build momentum and coherence among explorative research towards the Future Internet as well as the creation of a School of Architects to increase the profile of architecture science. The lecture will focus on the first recommendation, presenting the rationale behind it and the current status of the discussions towards its implementation.

A joint Q&A will face critical questions by the audience with mainly UK academics expected to join the event at UCL.

I will have more on the event and its outcome soon after March 1st.
